After the end of round 8, trainer Nacho Beristain told referee Tony Weeks that Oscar dela Hoya is done fighting for the night. Dela Hoya calmly stood up from his stool and met Manny Pacquiao at the center of the ring to congratulate the victor.
You’re still my idol, Pacquiao told him.
No, you’re my idol, De La Hoya said.
