CDO Whitewater Rafting Ultimate Experience Video
December 31, 2008This is a video compilation I made of our whitewater rafting experience at Cagayan River, Cagayan de Oro City, last December 22, 2008. We traversed 14 rapids over a 12.3 km. course in 3 hours.
I made this video using Windows Movie Maker. For the Twilight fanatics, you will notice that the background music I used is similar to that used in the baseball scene. The title of the song is “Supermassive Black Hole” by Muse. Enjoy!

Christmas Holiday Trip: Whitewater Rafting Experience, CDO
December 30, 2008After testing the waters at Timoga Cold Springs the previous day, we were now ready for the big splash! We were going to try whitewater rafting at Cagayan de Oro City! That day, December 22, 2008 was also our first wedding anniversary. What a way to celebrate it you might say! I and Wendy both love adventure and we want this day to be unforgettable.
We were up at 4:00 AM to attend simbang gabi. By 5:30 AM, we already left for CDO and by 7:00 AM, we arrived at Divisoria, our rendezvous point with our tour guides. They were not yet around though and when Marylou called them, we were directed to proceed to SM City. They arrived soon after us with their jeepney laden with orange rafts.
My Amateur Lens: Stained Glass
December 28, 2008This morning was the christening of my “inaanak”, Auxieme Jheart, son of my former co-worker at NDMC. It was held at the Sto. Niño Parish Church of Midsayap. After the baptismal rites, the lens of my digicam wandered and caught this stained glass window. I used the digital macro mode of my digicam to get this image.
Christmas Holiday Trip: Timoga Cold Springs, Iligan
December 27, 2008As is our practice every Christmas break since we became lovers, I and Wendy went on a trip this year. But this time, along with some of our friends. Call time was 8:00 AM at El Manuel Hotel where Rey and Maricel spent their first night together as a wedded couple. They tied the knot the previous day, December 20 where I and Wendy served as candle sponsors.
Our itinerary for that 21st day of December was to take a plunge at the Timoga Cold Springs in Iligan City, “The City of Majestic Waterfalls”. We left at around 8:30 AM with our hired Toyota Revo.
Our Wedding Chronicles: The Wedding
December 23, 2008NOTE: I’m making a series of blogs narrating the events last year that led to our wedding on December 22, 2007. I’m making this to share to others and for me and my wife to always remember how we became hitched to each other. This is the fifth blog in the series.
Yesterday was our 1st wedding anniversary but was not able to post this to coincide with that date because we were at Cagayan de Oro City for our white water rafting adventure.
We selected Archbishop Gerard Mongeau Chapel inside Notre Dame University as the place for the wedding because we want the wedding to be really an event where our families and friends can get together in a solemn and exclusive celebration of love. We don’t want a church because the visitors will have a tendency to sit in their own groups and be separated from the others due to the big cavernous space available. On the other hand, the small area a chapel offers will bring the crowd closer to each other, hence, there’s a more sense of bonding and unity.
Our Wedding Chronicles: Pre-Wedding Preparations
December 20, 2008NOTE: I’m making a series of blogs narrating the events last year that led to our wedding on December 22, 2007. I’m making this to share to others and for me and my wife to always remember how we became hitched to each other. This is the fourth blog in the series.
We woke up at 4:30 AM. The big day has finally come! Wendy and I will be tying the knot that wonderful 22nd day of December 2007.
We spent the previous night at El Manuel Hotel along with our families. At around 5:00 AM, the three photographers/videographers from Rey Rellon Studio of Davao City (they also stayed with us at the hotel) came knocking at our room to begin the photo shoot.
Our Wedding Chronicles: Invitation
December 16, 2008NOTE: I’m making a series of blogs narrating the events last year that led to our wedding on December 22, 2007. I’m making this to share to others and for me and my wife to always remember how we became hitched to each other. This is the third blog in the series.
By this time last year, all of our wedding invitations were already distributed. We actually made two types of invitations. One is an informal invitation-cum-souvenir and the other is a more formal one.
The first type was intended to be given to friends. Para na rin siyang souvenir giveway namin. It was a CD of compilation of songs that we personally handpicked. There were 36 songs included which are in MP3 format. Here’s the playlist. Feel free to listen to them.

Twilight Baseball Scene
December 12, 2008I watched the movie last Tuesday with Wendy at Gaisano Mall of Davao and found it full of “kilig” moments. The teenagers in the cinema were all ecstatic and shrieking whenever Edward and Isabella blurted out their sweet nothings to each other.
Edward: That’s what you dream about? Being a monster?
Bella: I dream about being with you forever.
Pacquiao TKOs dela Hoya in Eight Round!
December 7, 2008After the end of round 8, trainer Nacho Beristain told referee Tony Weeks that Oscar dela Hoya is done fighting for the night. Dela Hoya calmly stood up from his stool and met Manny Pacquiao at the center of the ring to congratulate the victor.
You’re still my idol, Pacquiao told him.
No, you’re my idol, De La Hoya said.
Our Wedding Chronicles: Engagement Ring
December 6, 2008NOTE: I’m making a series of blogs narrating the events last year that led to our wedding on December 22, 2007. I’m making this to share to others and for me and my wife to always remember how we became hitched to each other. This is the second blog in the series.
It was during Ate May Ann’s (Wendy’s friend) wedding January of last year when our intention of getting married was first publicly announced. It started when the couple asked who among the crowd plans to tie vows within the year. Our friends started pointing at us and so we were called in front and were made to do what the couple did like slicing the cake, wine drinking and kissing the bride. It was some sort of “practice” for our actual wedding.
