Our Birthday Celebration: November 2008

If Wendy had not miscarriaged due to a blighted ovum, our first child should have been born this month already and all three of us will be celebrating our birthdays at once in a big and grandiose one. Well, God has better plans.

Anyway, as is our custom every year since I and Wendy became lovers since 2004, we celebrated our birthday together, albeit in two groups. We were at Davao City last November 15 and met with our friends Rey and Maricel. Wendy’s birthday is on November 19 while me on the 20th but since they can’t come for the celebration on the 20th, we treated them to an early birthday dinner at Gerry’s Grill, Gaisano Mall. This was the first group.

It was our first time there and we were not dissapointed with the food. We ordered tokwa’t baboy, grilled pusit, sinigang na baboy and pancit canton. They were all delicious and we really got our money’s worth!

On Wendy’s birthday last November 19, I made a blog post for her. I requested some of my friends and co-bloggers to post their greetings as some sort of a surprise for her. The response was very overwhelming as we got 30 birthday greetings! That blog post was easily my most commented one ever. Ung mga nakakaalam na magkasunod lang ang birthday namin ay naggreet din sa akin. May mga pahabol nama’ng greetings ung iba. Better late than never ika nga. Salamat sa lahat ng naggreet kahit nga ung iba eh first time daw magcomment sa isa’ng blog, hehe.. We appreciate the time and effort. Wendy was really surprised and touched according to her.

It was on November 20 during my birthday when we had a little celebration at home. Close friends and relatives were there. That was the second group. Kami ang nagprepare ni Wendy ng food. 3:00 PM lang naman ng umalis kami ng bahay para magpalengke. By 4:30 PM, nakabalik na kami para magluto nung pagkain. By 6:00 PM, nakahanda na lahat at nagdatingan na ang mga bisita. In three hours lang namin ginawa lahat un! Para kami’ng contestants sa Iron Chef America! Although 1 hour contest lang un, di naman sila ang nagpapalengke di ba? Hehe..

We prepared sugpo, grilled tuna panga, fried chicken wings and chopsuey with canton noodles. Not bad for a 3-hour preparation. Di ba Arlene at Jo?
