McDonald’s Soon to Open at Cotabato City
November 29, 2008The familiar golden arches symbol of a giant fastfood chain can now be seen towering over Cotabato City’s skyline. It is strategically located at the heart of the city; in front of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral and at the back of the Central Bank.
Our Birthday Celebration: November 2008
November 22, 2008If Wendy had not miscarriaged due to a blighted ovum, our first child should have been born this month already and all three of us will be celebrating our birthdays at once in a big and grandiose one. Well, God has better plans.
Anyway, as is our custom every year since I and Wendy became lovers since 2004, we celebrated our birthday together, albeit in two groups. We were at Davao City last November 15 and met with our friends Rey and Maricel. Wendy’s birthday is on November 19 while me on the 20th but since they can’t come for the celebration on the 20th, we treated them to an early birthday dinner at Gerry’s Grill, Gaisano Mall. This was the first group.
Happy Birthday to My Lovely Wife!
November 19, 2008Today is my wife’s birthday and I want to give her a unique gift. She is very fond of figurines and when I chanced upon this one when I was buying supplies at Central Warehouse at Kidapawan City for a work-related event, I immediately bought it.
This is a Scorpio zodiac fairy porcelain figurine. As you can see from the pictures below, the figure is very detailed, the colors vivid and the fairy’s facial expression is almost life-like. It is 10 inches tall. I hope Wendy likes it.
Brock Lesnar TKOs Randy Couture in Round 2
November 17, 2008The Hulk pounded Captain America into submission!
Brock Lesnar was simply too big and too strong for Randy Couture. In front of a crowd of 14, 272 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Lesnar caught Couture with a right cross that sent the former 5-time UFC champion into the canvas. The former WWE champion immediately pounced and pounded Couture into the ground until referee Mario Yamasaki stepped in to stop the beating. The time was 3:07 in the 2nd round. Haha, my forecast was not even close!
UFC 91: Randy Couture vs Brock Lesnar
November 12, 2008This November 15, 2008 (Sunday here in the Philippines), Randy “The Natural” Couture returns to the Octagon after a 13-month hiatus. He will face former WWE champion Brock Lesnar. Randy is coming into this fight as an underdog even though he is the heavyweight champion before he temporarily left the UFC due to its failure to sign Fedor Emelianenko. When I saw the fight poster, man, that’s where I saw the discrepancy. Brock is HUGE!

The Phoenix Suns 2008-09 Player Introduction Video
November 8, 2008Before my team Phoenix Suns starting lineup are introduced to their crowd in every NBA home game this season, this video is played at the big screen at their home court, the US Airways Center. Watch. I really like the Dark Knight music theme!
This on the other hand is their video from last season when my man Shaq came.
My Shell Ferrari Key Rings
November 7, 2008I collect all sorts of things. From NBA trading cards to magazines and books to action figures and DVDs; anything that really interests me. My lovely wife Wendy knows all about this that last week, when a Shell personnel went to our office and opened their promotion offering 6 limited edition Ferrari key rings, she immediately bought all six in one swoop! Of course, she gave them immediately to me.
Obama Presidential Victory Speech: "Change Has Come to America"
November 5, 2008In a historic US presidential election, Democrat Barack Hussein Obama II defeated Republican John Sidney McCain III to break America’s racial barrier and became its first black president and 44th overall. Obama gathered 349 electoral votes to McCain’s 163 and 53% of the popular vote to McCain’s 46%.
Just one hour after getting the victory, Obama delivered his victory speech at Grant Park, Chicago in his home state of Illinois. Below is the video posted at YouTube courtesy of Associated Press.
All-Saints’ Day ang nakatakda for November 1 at hindi All-Souls’ Day. Ngunit ganunpaman, sa Araw ng mga Santo kami pumunta sa sementeryo para bumisita sa mga mahal namin sa buhay na pumanaw na.
