Bird Watching at Malagos Garden Resort
August 31, 2008Just less than a month after our Samal Island trip, we were back again at Davao City. This time, due to an invitation from Wendy’s ninang to visit Malagos Garden Resort to celebrate her birthday.
Since August 10 was a Sunday, we went to church first at Elenita Heights, Mintal where Ninang Yvette lives. Then off we go to Malagos Garden Resort where we arrived at around 10:00 AM. Since we already are starving as we have not taken any breakfast, we ate first at the parking area where there are picnic tables. Food is not allowed by the way inside the resort.
Pacquiao vs dela Hoya Bout Finally On!

Finally, after weeks of negotiations, the much-awaited mega-blockbuster fight between Manny Pacquiao (47-3-2, 35 KOs) and Oscar dela Hoya (39-5-0, 30 KOs) is set on December 6.
Sabi na nga ba at matutuloy din ang laban. Pakipot lang ang kampo ni Pacquiao nung sinabi nila last week na cancelled na ang laban. Ayaw kasing pumayag ng kampo ni dela Hoya sa 40-60 split na gusto nina Pacquiao sa kikitain ng laban na maaaring humakot ng $100 million dollars revenue. The fight is also set to challenge the pay-per-view records set by dela Hoya’s fight with the now retired Floyd Mayweather. But they made amends already regarding it. Pera-pera lang yan eh! But I know both are deserving to whatever prize money they might get from the fight. Sipag at tiyaga kasi ang puhunan nila. Unlike many of our corrupt public officials who just sit down and sign and presto! Instant money! But that’s another story, hehehe…

August 17, 2008Mahilig ako sa anime. Lalo na ung mga anime na translated into Tagalog. Tagalized ba, hehe.. Ang mga anime kasi eh Japanese animations kaya mahirap intindihin. Di ako marunong ng Niponggo. 
Natatandaan ko pa nung college days ko (naks, reminiscing kuno!), lagi kong inaabangan sa free TV ung Dragon Ball Z at Trigun. Then, nung nagkatrabaho na, ung Slam Dunk, Hunter X Hunter at Doraemon. Kaya lang, nawala na sa ABS-CBN ung Slam Dunk at Hunter X Hunter at lately lang, pati ung Doraemon sa GMA 7.
Buldon, My Last Frontier
August 14, 2008I have been working for more than 3 years now in an NGO as a field personnel for the provinces of Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao and Shariff Kabunsuan and for the cities of Cotabato, Kidapawan and Tacurong.
In those years, I have been able to visit all the municipalities in my area of coverage. Heck, I have even visited far-flung municipalities like Lebak, Kalamansig, Arakan and Banisilan. I have visited all of them except for Buldon in Shariff Kabunsuan and Palimbang in Sultan Kudarat. This morning, I was able to visit one of my last two frontiers, Buldon.
Fun at the Beach: Blue Waters Resort, Samal Island
August 2, 2008Mama’s balikbayan friends from London invited her to Blue Waters Resort at Samal Island and me and my wife wanting to take a break from work decided to tag along. Wendy’s sisters and niece also came along. This was last July 19.
We hired a jeepney in going to the boarding area for Samal Island which is in Davao Boat Club, Lanang.
There’s a waiting area where we waited (what else?) for the boat to usher us to Samal Island.
