My First Earning and First Buy From Blogging
July 18, 2008I just paid for the first item I bought from the first payment I earned because of blogging. It’s a lot of 07-08 Topps Trademark Moves jersey cards all serial numbered to 50. It means only 50 copies of each card are existing in the whole world! I bought it from attyball23 of eBay for the bid price of $12.25 plus $5 shipping for a total of $17.25. It’s a good deal since the cards has a total book value of $70 from Beckett.
I bought it mainly because of the players included for my NBA trading cards collection, Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard.
My Kung Fu Panda Action Figures
July 14, 2008Before watching The Incredible Hulk at SM last July 5, I decided to buy two McDonald’s Happy Meal hoping to complete the action figures from the movie Kung Fu Panda. I was only lacking Mantis and Viper. Much to my dismay, I was told by the cashier that they already have a new line of Happy Meal toys starting just that day! Oh well, I was late by one day.
Here are the figures, I will be happier if they are complete. I hope someone will be kind enough to give me Mantis and Viper.
Wanted: Hancock and the Incredible Hulk
July 12, 2008I was in Davao City during July 2 – 6 to report to our program management office. My wife Wendy came along as she has nothing to do anyways in Cotabato City since she is still on a two-month hiatus from work due to her “raspa”.
We both are movie addicts so from July 3 – 5, we managed to watch 3 movies in 3 consecutive days! In our more than 3 years of being together, that’s our first time to do that. Eh paano ba naman kasi, nagkasabay-sabay din ang mga magagandang palabas. I’m talking about big-budget, star-studded American films here and not our local films with the same storylines and plots. I hate to be a jerk pero wala naman talagang kwenta mga pelikulang Filipino ngayon eh, hehe…
Visit to a Bangus Production Site in Glan, Sarangani
July 3, 2008Along with a colleague at work, I accompanied a USAID personnel in a site inspection to one of our projects in Bgy. Burias, Glan, Sarangani last month. It was my first time to go there since it is not my area of responsibility. It just happened that Dandy is not available so I was assigned to take-over. The barangay is on the southern tip of Glan located along the Sarangani Bay and the road going there was very muddy since it was raining the past few days. I also noticed the simple and quiet lifestyle of the communities we passed by.
The project we visited was a milkfish (bangus) production site. We plan on buying bangus and shrimps there as they are cheaper in the place so we purchased Styrofoam boxes filled with crushed ice at the Gen. Santos City public market. Upon arrival at the project site at around 2:00 PM, we were greeted by the project proponent leader. He related to us how they maintain and sustain the project assistance given to them. It was not yet harvest time but since we want to buy some bangus, they showed us how they do it using a fishnet.
