Pacquiao KOs Diaz in 9th Round!
June 29, 2008I don’t care if my fearless prediction is off by one round. I’m still ecstatic that Manny Pacquiao made a punching bag out of WBC Lightweight Champion David Diaz and finally tore him apart in round 9 during their bout at Mandalay Bay Casino, Las Vegas entitled “Lethal Combination”.
Pacman is like a raging bull right from the start. He will throw 3 to 5 punches against Dangerous Diaz and then the man counters, but before he could even do that, Manny has already steered away from him and all Diaz could hit is air. Man, what a sight to behold! It is so beautiful watching Manny circling Diaz and throwing all those left-right combinations. He showed us a boxing clinic and in the process, became the first Asian to capture a world title in four weight divisions and most importantly; where the great Gabriel “Flash” Elorde (considered the best Filipino boxer ever) failed, he succeeded by becoming the first Filipino Lightweight Division Champion.
My Fearless Forecast on the Pacquiao - Diaz "Lethal Combination" Bout
June 27, 2008As a boxing aficionado, I know I have to make one. And as a true-blooded Filipino, I can’t help but root for our fellowman, Manny Pacquiao.
Even though his last fight with Juan Manuel Marquez is a very close one, I still have to pick “Pacman” over “Dangerous Diaz”. Nice monikers by the way. It is truly a “Lethal Combination”! Just like in the video game, Pacman will gobble up Diaz and include him in the long list of Mexicans he have defeated; Morales, Barrera and Marquez. After all, he is not called “The Mexican Assasin” for nothing.
When Someone I Met Online Gave Me a Present
June 26, 2008
Christmas is still 6 months away but I have already been given a Christmas present. Santa Claus came in the form of a person I just met online.
I am a member of Beckett Forums. This is a forum dedicated to sports trading cards collectors where members can chat and give ideas to other members all over the world regarding their hobby and their preferred sports. This is also a place where members can trade or swap cards with fellow members. They’re maybe just pieces of cardboard to some, but for us, they hold some value.
Shaq Disses "Kobe Couldn’t Do Without Me" In His Freestyle Rap
June 25, 2008You should watch this. It’s downright hilarious. Shaquille O’Neal never ceases to amuse his fans and annoy his haters. Shaq has apparently found pleasure in Kobe’s meltdown in the recently concluded NBA Finals.
This happened at a party for rapper Cory Gunz, Sunday night (June 22) in The Underground Village Club, New York City.
Here’s the lyrics:
Kobe’s Bid to Win Without Shaq Foiled by the Celtics
June 19, 2008Critics can now safely say that Kobe Bryant can’t win a championship ring without my man Shaquille O’Neal at his side. I couldn’t agree more; for the meantime, at least. I know Kobe is still young and will get more cracks to prove detractors wrong.
I admit that I am a Kobe hater before because of his selfish me-first, trigger-happy, too cocky and conceited attitude. Shaq is always boastful but he delivers his pronouncements in a witty and amusing way. He is always a crowd and media favorite. The titles he gives himself are also entertaining and comical like “The Big Aristotle”, “The Big Baryshnikov”, “Most Dominant Ever”, “Dr. Shaq” and most recently, “Big Cactus”. On the other hand, Kobe when bragging does it in a serious and grim manner. He is so full of confidence that it sounds like he is telling us that no other can do what he can. So rude and arrogant!
Our Lady of the Rosary Parish Church
June 15, 2008Along with my wife, I regularly attend mass every Sunday. No, let me correct that. Forcibly dragging me along, my wife regularly attends mass every Sunday. Hehehe, that’s more like it.
We attend mass at the Our Lady of the Rosary Parish Church located at Bgy. Rosary Heights, Cotabato City. It is just a walking distance away from Wendy’s place.
Get Paid to Blog About the Things You Love!
June 6, 2008When I was still studying, I was twice named the editor-in-chief for our school paper. It was first, for The Children’s Voice during my elementary days at KPCS and second, for The NDK Herald during my secondary days at Notre Dame of Kabacan. I was passive during my college days and didn’t even try to contribute to our university and college publications at UIC.
But now, I realize that being a writer runs naturally within my veins. My mother was a very good one. She has already passed away (God bless her soul) but I still remember her collection of poems she had written. She even submitted some of them to various magazines and they were published. Heck, if she were still alive, she might also blog!
Wendy’s D & C Procedure
June 1, 2008Now I know.
The medical term for “raspa” is D & C (dilatation and curettage). I learned that in a very unfortunate way: when my wife had undergone that procedure.
As per the ob-gyne’s advice, I accompanied my wife to the hospital last May 20 for admittance. Due to a blighted ovum, her uterus will be scraped to remove the placenta and the fetal tissue. Kris Aquino had undergone a similar minor operation last April. (Haha, showbiz!)
